When I place an order, when am I actually charged?
Answer
You are not charged when you place an order. If you chose the Free Online Proof, 4OVER4 first posts it, and payment is collected only after you approve the proof and authorize the job to print.
- At order placement: your details and files are submitted, with no charge.
- Free proofs: online proofs are posted to your account for review, still with no charge.
- At authorization: the authorized amount is charged once you approve the proof and the order.
- Production begins only after that approval and charge.
If you spot an error, request changes before approving, which means before you are billed.
A pending amount you may see on your card after checkout is a pre-authorization, not the charge. If you chose Straight To Production, which the calculator preselects on most products, there is no proof to approve: the job goes to print after the file review.
