Boxes can be used with food only when there is an intervening layer of FDA-approved food contact material between the food and the box. The packaging itself is not intended for direct food contact.

• Use a food-safe barrier: an approved liner, wrapper, or bag between the food and the box.
• Responsibility sits with the user: it is up to the customer or end user to confirm the setup meets the relevant FDA regulations.
• Good fits: bakery items, pre-wrapped goods, and dry products packed with a proper liner.
