Metallic Foil Business Card Design Requirements

Metallic Foil is a special-effect finish, so it needs an extra layer in your files that tells our press exactly where the foil should land.

• Any project using a special effect like Metallic Foil requires a separate file called a Black Mask file.
• The Black Mask maps the areas that will receive foil, kept apart from your full-color artwork.
• Anything painted solid black on the mask is treated as foil. Everything else prints normally.

Supplying a clean Black Mask alongside your design is the key to sharp, correctly placed foil.
