Question
Can 4OVER4 print white images on transfer paper for fabric application?
Answer
Not currently. 4OVER4 does not offer white ink printing, and standard inkjet and offset presses cannot lay down white ink, so white designs for fabric transfer are not possible through the usual process.
- Standard CMYK printing has no white channel, so white areas print as the base color of the material.
- On white or light fabric, areas meant to be white are simply left unprinted so the fabric shows through.
- On dark fabric, a design that relies on white detail will not reproduce, because there is no white ink to create it.
- For true white on fabric transfers, a specialty printer that uses white-ink or heat-transfer technology is needed.
- If your artwork depends on white elements, consider reworking it to sit on a light background.
