What exactly is Wonderfoil printing?
Wonderfoil, also called cold foil, lays a metallic foil on the card and prints your full color artwork over it. Your artwork is printed directly onto that reflective surface, so a mirror-like sheen shows through the lighter areas of your design.
- Metallic foundation: the foil can cover as much of the card as your mask marks, not just small accents.
- Shine through light areas: wherever the ink is lighter or absent, the metallic surface shows through and gleams.
- Different from foil stamping: foil stamping only adds metallic to specific spots, while this gives you a full metallic backdrop.
The takeaway: with Wonderfoil the shine can cover large areas of the card, not just selected highlights.
Order it on metallic business cards. Upload a foil mask file in 100% black only together with your full color CMYK file: the mask marks where the metallic foil goes.
