Question

What paper finishes are available for business cards?

Answer

Business cards come in a wide choice of stocks and finishes, from free everyday cards up to premium specialty lines.

  • Free business cards: 14pt gloss coated and 14pt uncoated cover
  • Standard line: a larger selection of coated, uncoated and premium papers, including cotton and linen stocks, with surfaces ranging from matte and uncoated through semi-gloss, gloss, and high gloss
  • Specialty finishes: gloss, matte, silk, and soft touch lamination, raised foil, spot UV (raised or unraised), embossing, letterpress, painted edges in custom colors, and rounded or curved corners on the premium card lines; multiple effects can be combined on one card for extra depth

Satin is not currently offered for cards; semi-gloss is the closest middle ground between gloss and matte. Finishing choices affect both price and turnaround, so name every option when you build the order or request a quote, and double-check your selection at checkout. If your cards arrive with a different finish than the one you ordered, contact support within 10 days and include photos so it can be reviewed and resolved. Open the business card product page to see the full set of paper and finish choices. Options and turnaround can vary by product, so confirm the latest details on the product page or with support.
