Business cards that combine foil stamping with a custom die-cut shape need five separate files, because the foil and the cut path each require their own artwork in addition to the color print.
Submit all five of these:
- Full-color CMYK print-ready PDF for the front
- Full-color CMYK print-ready PDF for the back
- Foil mask file for the front, black and white only, with 100% black where you want foil and white (0%) where you do not
- Foil mask file for the back, built the same way
- Vector file of the actual die-cut shape
The most common rejection is a foil mask with gray tones, so make sure both mask files use only 100% black and white, with no grays in between.
