Can envelopes be printed with bleed or do they have margin requirements?

Envelopes are not printed to the bleed the way flat cards are, so designs need a margin instead of edge-to-edge color. Keeping content off the edges avoids problems at the seams and folds during production.

• Keep all text, logos, and artwork inside the 0.25" safe margin.
• Avoid running backgrounds to the edge, since seams and glued flaps can distort them.
• Account for window position if your envelope style has one.
