Question
How are printed products oriented or positioned on the sheet?
Answer
Products are laid out on the parent sheet for the best fit and yield, which keeps material use efficient and pricing reasonable. That default works for most jobs, but some pieces have orientation needs that the layout has to respect.
- Default placement: positioned by best fit to maximize how many pieces come from each sheet.
- Grain or mount needs: items used with H-stakes or specific hardware may need a set orientation.
- Flag it early: note any orientation requirement in your order comments or contact the team before production.
If orientation matters for how the piece will be mounted or displayed, tell the team up front so the layout is set correctly the first time.
