Question

What is Rewind 1?

Answer

Rewind 1 is one of the 8 standard winding positions used for roll labels. The rewind number tells the press and your applicator exactly how each label is oriented as it comes off the roll. In positions 1 through 4 the printed face is wound facing out, and Rewind 1 specifically has the top edge of the label leading off the roll.

PositionWindLeading edge
Rewind 1 (this position)Wound outTop edge leads off the roll
Rewind 2Wound outBottom edge leads off the roll
Rewind 3Wound outLeft edge leads off the roll
Rewind 4Wound outRight edge leads off the roll
Rewind 5Wound inTop edge leads off the roll
Rewind 6Wound inBottom edge leads off the roll
Rewind 7Wound inLeft edge leads off the roll
Rewind 8Wound inRight edge leads off the roll

Match the rewind position to your applicator. If you apply by hand, the direction is far less critical.
