Start by ordering physical samples. A finish that looks great on a screen can feel completely different in your hand, and touching it tells you more than any photo can.

• Order a sample or swatch kit so you can compare gloss, matte, soft-touch and uncoated side by side.
• Match the finish to your brand: luxury and minimal brands lean matte or soft-touch, bold brands lean gloss or foil.
• Think about use. If people will write on the piece, choose uncoated or matte.
• Start with a single accent finish before you try combining several.
• Check how the finish reads against your stock color and your artwork.
