Question
Does the finish affect how long my prints last?
Answer
Finish does play a role in durability, though both matte and gloss hold up well for years under normal use. The finish mainly changes how a piece resists moisture, scuffing, and everyday handling.
| Finish | Durability trait |
|---|---|
| Glossy | Thin protective layer that resists minor moisture and light scuffing |
| Matte | Handles daily wear well but can scuff more easily on its own |
| Laminated (either) | Adds a much tougher, moisture-resistant, and tear-resistant surface |
- For pieces exposed to hands, weather, or spills, lamination extends life the most.
- Under normal indoor conditions, both finishes stay looking good for a long time.
