Question
Can lenticular effects be combined with other print finishes?
Answer
The lenticular lens is the star of the show on the front face, so it is usually the primary finish there. The back of many lenticular pieces, though, can carry standard printing, which gives you room for details, contact info, or a call to action.
- Front: the lenticular lens carries the motion effect and is the main finish.
- Back: standard CMYK printing for text, logos, and supporting artwork.
- Pairing: the animated front reads best when the back stays clean and simple.
If you want a different kind of dimensional impact on flat products, a tactile finish like debossing presses a design into the stock for a raised-and-recessed feel.
