Question
Can I use Canva files for professional printing?
Answer
Yes, Canva files can print professionally, but the default export is built for screens, not presses. The fix is to export the right file type and correct the color and resolution before you send it off.
- Export as PDF Print with crop marks and bleed enabled, not PDF Standard or PNG.
- Check that the file is 300 DPI so it stays sharp at full size.
- Convert the color to CMYK. Screen designs are RGB and can shift when printed.
- If your Canva plan does not offer CMYK export, open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat and convert the color profile there.
Doing this before upload avoids the two most common Canva print surprises: soft images and colors that look duller than they did on screen.
