Answer
Lamination and special coatings such as velvet laminate or soft touch need a substantial base to sit on. Lighter papers do not hold these finishes well, so cover stock is the recommendation.
- Use cover stock, typically 100# matte cover or heavier.
- Text weight or lighter papers will not produce quality results once lamination is applied.
- Confirm cover stock compatibility when you request a quote for any coated finish.
