Do I need to place an order before I can see proofs of my design?

Yes. Proofs are generated after you upload your files and complete checkout, because an order record is only created once checkout is finished. Completing checkout does not mean you are charged right away, and if you choose free online proofs you get to review everything before production starts.

Here is how the proof flow works:

1. Upload and check out: submit your files and complete the checkout to create the order.
2. No automatic charge: creating the order does not immediately bill you.
3. Proof review: with free online proofs selected, the team reviews the order and posts digital proofs.
4. Email notification: you are notified when the proofs are ready to view.
5. Authorize production: approve the proofs to release the job, using the card entered at checkout.

This order-then-proof sequence lets you confirm every detail before anything is printed.
