Embossing includes a small, expected tolerance because the paper is physically pressed by a die.
- Shift tolerance: up to 1/16 of an inch during production.
- Why it exists: it is normal movement for mechanical emboss work, not a defect.
- Design accordingly: keep embossed elements at least that far from trim edges and other critical details.
Planning for a 1/16 inch margin around embossed areas keeps your final result clean and within tolerance.
