Which projects belong in my design portfolio?

Choose portfolio pieces for where you want to go, not just where you have been. Each project should earn its place by proving a specific capability.

• Select work that points toward your target clients and industries.
• Make sure each piece demonstrates a distinct skill, such as brand systems, layout, illustration, or typography.
• Cut anything that does not align with the direction you want your career to take.
• When unsure, ask a trusted colleague which pieces left the strongest impression.

A tight, intentional selection beats a large, unfocused one every time.
