One Banner That Talks to Both Directions
Hang a standard banner between two crowds and half your audience reads a blank back. Print both sides of ordinary vinyl and the two images ghost into each other. Double sided banners on blockout vinyl solve both problems: each face prints in full color and reads on its own, front or back. 4OVER4.COM prints them in-house in our NYC plant, as it has since 1999.
You hang one piece of vinyl and get two messages, one for each direction of traffic, on a material heavy enough to hold up outdoors. It belongs to our banner printing collection, next to the single-sided indoor and outdoor vinyl banners linked further down this page.
What Are 2 Sided Blockout Banners
A 2 sided blockout banner is a vinyl banner with a full color print on each face. If you only need one printed face, the single-sided Indoor Banners cover that for less.
What Size Should Your Banner Be
Pick the size by where it hangs. The default 2' x 3' suits a doorway or a booth, and a 4' x 8' or 4' x 10' fills a storefront or spans a stage. For a pole or a stairwell, the 2' x 6' and 3' x 10' give a tall, narrow shape. If your space falls between two sizes, pick the nearest preset. The option sheet below shows the grommet, pole pocket and proof choices you set on the order. For outdoor-first hangs, the Outdoor Banners are another route, and the Business Banners cover everyday indoor signage.
How Much Do 2 Sided Blockout Banners Cost
One banner is $108.75. Five run $488.78, which is $97.76 each, and from 9 banners up the price settles near $86 a banner. The slider below shows the order total and the per-banner cost for 1 to 6 banners.
Wally prints both sides, not just the front
Why one blockout banner does the work of two.

A 2 sided blockout banner starts at $108.75 and prints full color on both faces of opaque 15oz BlackOut vinyl, so light never carries one side through to the other. Hang it where people pass on both sides and each face stays crisp. Pick a size up to 4 by 10 feet, choose your speed, and Wally gets it printed.
What Is 15oz BlackOut Vinyl
The 15 ounce weight gives the vinyl body, so the banner hangs flat instead of rippling and looks substantial the moment it goes up.

Can You Print a Different Design on Each Side
Yes. Upload one file for the front and a second file for the back, and both print in full color at full resolution. When both directions should see the same message, upload the same file twice. A Free Online Proof is worth taking on a two sided layout, so you can check that the front and the back land the right way up before the banner goes to press.
Who Uses a 2 Sided Blockout Banner
Anywhere people pass under or beside the banner from two directions. A shop hangs one over the sidewalk so the offer reads to foot traffic coming from either end of the street. A supermarket strings them down an aisle so shoppers read one side going in and the other coming back. A stage or a booth uses one as a backdrop when the audience sits on both sides.
How Do They Compare to Our Other Banners
2 sided blockout banners are the pick when a banner will be seen from both directions. The comparison below sets them against the other banner styles 4OVER4 prints, with the cheapest way into the category and the most reviewed style, and a side-by-side view of price, stock, finish and turnaround.
How Fast Can You Get 2 Sided Blockout Banners
These banners print on a standard 4 business day turnaround, which keeps the price at its lowest, and when a date sneaks up you can move to a 2 business day rush that cuts the wait in half. You also control the artwork: choose Straight To Production to go to press immediately, or add a Free Online Proof and sign off on a digital preview first. Across the shop 99.8% of 4OVER4 orders arrive on time and 82% ship early, so the date you pick is a date you can plan around.
Double sided banner FAQs
How are the edges finished
The perimeter is hemmed, folded back and welded rather than sewn, so there are two thicknesses of vinyl around every edge. That doubled edge is what takes the load. Grommets pull against the hem instead of against a single layer of material, which is the difference between a banner that survives a season outdoors and one that tears out at a corner in the first storm.
Where do the grommets go
The order has two grommet choices: corners only, or one every 2 feet, which shares the tension across more fixing points on a long banner. The default is no grommets, so pick one if the banner ties to anything.
Do I need wind slits
Wind slits are cuts in the face that let a gust pass through instead of pushing the whole banner like a sail. They are not one of the options on this banner, which offers grommets and pole pockets only. For a site that is windy all the time, such as a long construction fence, a mesh banner is the better material, because the entire face breathes.
When should I use pole pockets instead of grommets
Pole pockets are open sleeves that a rod or a pipe slides through, running along the top and bottom or the left and right sides, 2" or 3" wide. Use them when the banner hangs from a crossbar, spans an entrance, or needs to sit flat and still against a wall, because a pole holds the whole edge straight rather than pulling at points. Grommets are the choice when the banner ties to a fence, a frame or a set of hooks.

2 Sided Blockout Banners: Frequently Asked Questions
What are the different types of banners?
By material, vinyl, fabric and mesh. By build, single sided, or two sided on blockout vinyl. By hardware, hanging banners with grommets or pole pockets, retractable stands and pole banners. The banner on this page is the two sided vinyl kind, 15oz BlackOut vinyl printed on both faces.
What does scrim banner mean?
Scrim is the woven polyester mesh laminated inside banner vinyl to give it tear strength, and scrim vinyl is the standard banner material. Blockout banner vinyl is built the same way with an opaque black layer added in the middle.
Where can I buy a black banner?
If you mean a banner printed in black, order it here. Set the background to solid black in the artwork and the 15oz BlackOut vinyl prints it edge to edge on one or both faces. If you mean blackout, that is the vinyl on this page. Either way it takes grommets or pole pockets.
What block do you use for banners?
An opaque black core laminated between the two printable faces. On this banner the core is part of the 15oz BlackOut vinyl, so there is nothing extra to add to the order.
