    As mobile devices have become an ever-present element in modern lives, Google has responded by launching what they have named ¨material design, ¨ a new design language for Android, Chrome OS, and the web. Material design comprises a new era of color, modernized iconography and a steadier interface. Basically, material design provides guidelines for uniform design across all devices. The creation of the entire interface is based on what Google calls a "unifying theory of a rationalized space and a system of motion." The unified design language, material design, was introduced in a conference held in June 25, 2014. Matías Duarte, Google’s vice president of design, pointed out that ¨elements, transitions, and animations should appear as in real life. ¨

    Google’s material design will be gradually extended throughout all its array of web and mobile products. Google released a video showing its new interfaces for Android and the web, comprising Gmail and Calendar. Material design is poised to become the next popular resource for web and app developers. Google’s material design is not a bare elegant design; it also focuses on usability. In fact, its goal is to offer a more enjoyable user experience so, why does material design seem to be a reference point in desing? Provides Enhanced Flexibility Designers can find the flexibility they were waiting for, so now they can address various devices and screens. Designers are able to find solutions and enhanced tools instead of limitations. Unified Screens Google’s Material Design is a unified solution for various products and screens. Google’s new design language defines how it can be used on various platforms like web apps, Smartphones or Smart watches. Google Shows Great Interest in Design Google has innovated by introducing an impressive design language, which seems cohesive and thoughtful. Google provides function to the user and pleasing experience for the eye. Certainly, with the outstanding scheme of material design Google takes a big step forward in becoming one of the global leaders in design. Material design was directed through the following three core values: Material ¨Material is a metaphor¨, as stated by Google, refers to a theory of rationalized space and a system of motion. Real paper features such as surfaces and edges were the inspiration of ¨material.¨  Google highlights the importance of light, surface, and movement; which are fundamental to perceive how objects move and interact with each other. Bold, graphic, intentional Elements such as typography, grids, space, scale, color, and use of imagery do more than merely please the eye. They create hierarchy, meaning, and focus. Right color choices, edge-to-edge imagery, large-scale typography, and intentional white space generate a remarkable graphic interface highly appreciated by users. The focus on user actions allows them to take advantage of full functionality. Motion provides meaning Motion enables users to be the core focus. Objects are presented to the user without breaking the continuity of the entire experience even as they transform and reorganize. Motion is an appropriate aspect and it is applied to improve usability. Google has struck a great balance between usability and elegant design.
