## Hand Out a Card People Tear Apart, Then Keep

Rip business cards do two jobs with one piece. We print a tall 3.5" x 8.5" card around a clean perforation, so your customer tears a section off by hand and the rest keeps working, no scissors needed. Hand one out as a coupon at the register, a ticket stub at an event or a referral tab, and the customer pockets a piece while your name stays on the part they keep. A set of 50 starts at $60.42, rated 4.5 out of 5.

You get full color on any of 12 stocks, a tear-off that lets you count redemptions, and one card where you would otherwise print a card and a separate coupon. To see the rest of the family, browse the full [Rip Cards Printing](https://www.4over4.com/rip-cards-printing) lineup, or build yours from the choices below.

Fifty cards cost $60.42 and a hundred cost $86.78, so doubling a first order adds about 26 dollars. The per-card price keeps falling through 40 tiers to 100,000, so a full case for a store rollout or an event costs far less per card than a test batch. ### What Is a Rip Card

A rip card is one printed piece with a built-in perforation, so a portion tears away cleanly by hand. We print it full color on one or both sides at a fixed 3.5" x 8.5" size, on any of 12 stocks, and you set the ink, finish, rounded corners and turnaround in the live configurator.

Your customer tears the offer, ticket or tab off along the perforation and keeps it, and the rest of the card carries your name or your terms. The single 3.5" x 8.5" size leaves room for a headline up top and the detachable section below. Set the ink to 4/0, 4/1 or 4/4, pick the stock and a finish, and the price updates live.

#### Are rip cards the same as tear off business cards?

They are. Rip card, tear off card and perforated business card all name the same format, one printed piece carrying a promotional panel plus a perforated section the reader tears off by hand and keeps. Whichever of those words you searched, this is the product they lead to.

### What Size Are Rip Cards, and Can You Round the Corners

Rip cards come in one finished size, 3.5" x 8.5", the same tall footprint as a rack card, with the perforation built in. Leave the corners square or round them to a 1/8" or 3/8" radius, and bundle the finished cards into handout stacks if you like.

The tall shape gives you a message across the top and a tear-off section below on one card. Round the corners to a 1/8" or 3/8" radius for a softer edge, or leave them square, and turn on bundling to get the cards banded into handout stacks. The chart below lists every size, corner and finishing choice in the same order the configurator shows them. For the same 3.5" x 8.5" card without the tear-off, made for a display rack, the [Standard Rack Cards](https://www.4over4.com/product/rackcards) cover that.

### Where the Perforation Falls on a 3.5 x 8.5 Rip Card

The finished card is 3.5" wide and 8.5" tall, and the perforation runs straight across the width, splitting it into two working areas: the panel that carries the offer and the stub that gets torn off and pocketed. Put the stub at the familiar business card footprint of 3.5" x 2" and the panel above it comes out at 3.5" x 6.5". Move the perf line and the two numbers move with it, but they always add back up to 8.5".

Design each area as if it were its own card, because after a few seconds that is what they are. The panel keeps the headline, the image and the offer; the stub keeps the name, the number and whatever the person is meant to hold on to, coupon code, referral tab or ticket stub.

Keep type, logos and faces clear of the perf line on both sides. Background color and photography can run across it and should bleed past the trim, but a word or a face split by the tear reads as a mistake on the half that survives, and a perforated edge is never as crisp as a cut one.

### What Paper Stocks and Finishes Can You Choose

The rip card configurator lists 12 stocks: gloss and uncoated covers, cream uncoated, recycled 30% and 100% post-consumer options, textured white linen and a durable 15pt synthetic plastic. Finish options are Standard or High Gloss UV Coating. Ink prints 4/0 front only, 4/1 front plus black back, or 4/4 full color on both sides.

The default 14pt Gloss Cover keeps the card clean and low cost, with 16pt and an 80# gloss cover for more weight. Uncoated covers, cream included, give you a surface that takes a pen, handy for a punch or loyalty card. The 30% and 100% post-consumer recycled stocks cover a greener order. The 14pt White Linen and 18pt Premium White Linen add a woven texture, and the 15pt Synthetic Plastic survives water and tearing in a wallet or a glovebox. Then pick Standard or a High Gloss UV Coating that makes color snap and resists fingerprints, and set the ink to 4/0, 4/1 or 4/4.

### How Much Do Rip Cards Cost

## Wally tears off the offer, keeps the card working

Why a $60.42 stack of rip cards gets used, not tossed.

A rip card is one 3.5 by 8.5 inch card with a built-in perforation, so your customer tears off the coupon or ticket and keeps it while the rest of the card does its job. Fifty start at $60.42, print full color on any of 12 stocks, and Wally can rush them Same-Day out of New York.

### What Do People Use Rip Cards For

A rip card tears cleanly in two, so it works as a card and a coupon at once: your customer keeps the detachable code, voucher or stub, and the rest stays in hand or on display.

Retailers print a discount code on the tear-off strip so shoppers leave holding the offer. Event organizers use the detachable end as a ticket stub or a raffle entry. Gyms and cafes run them as punch or loyalty cards, and service businesses put a referral code or an appointment reminder on the piece that leaves with the customer. Print 4/4 and the back of the tear-off carries terms, a QR code or a phone number. For a taller tear-off that hangs at a store shelf, the [Rip Hangers](https://www.4over4.com/product/rip-hangers) carry the same idea to the point of purchase, and for a card people keep by the phone, the [Appointment Cards](https://www.4over4.com/product/appointment-cards) fit that reminder job.

### How Do Rip Cards Compare to the Rest of the Range

Pick rip cards when the tear-off itself does the work. If you are weighing a plain rack card, a hanging tear-off or a small card people keep, the chart below lines rip cards up against those siblings with the starting price of each.

## Standard Rip Cards: Frequently Asked Questions

### What is a rip card and how does the tear-off work?

It is a tall 3.5" x 8.5" card built around a clean perforation, so a section tears off by hand with no scissors. The person keeps the torn piece, a coupon, a ticket stub, or a referral tab, and your name stays on the part that remains.

### What stocks can I choose from?

There are 12: gloss and uncoated covers, cream uncoated, 30% and 100% recycled options, textured white linen, and a durable 15pt synthetic plastic. The synthetic is the one to pick when the card has to survive a pocket or wet hands.

### How few can I order?

The minimum is 50 cards at $60.42, about $1.21 each. The per-card price slides toward 6 cents as the run climbs to 100,000.

### Can I get rounded corners and a coating?

Yes. Rounded corners are an option, and the card can be finished plain or with a High Gloss UV Coating. Printing is full color on the front with a blank or black back, or full color on both sides.

### Can the cards arrive bundled in fixed counts?

Yes. Bundling is an order option and you choose the stack count under In stacks of. That is useful when the cards get handed to several staff members or split across locations.

### How fast can I get them?

Standard production is 5 business days, with rush speeds available all the way to Same-Day. Shipping time is added after production, so pick the speed against your event date.
