Otherwise, the foil will be wavy and won't look good. The only time a 50% to 70% coverage is acceptable is with patterns, thin strokes or small shapes. The raised foil file must be a vector art created in a vector based program such as illustrator. Otherwise you won't have sharp edges on the artwork if you use a raster image for the raised foil mask file. We do not recommend having fonts smaller than 10 pt on the Raised Foil Artwork. However if you use fonts with thicker strokes or bold fonts, we do not recommend having fonts smaller than 12pt. ## See Raised Foil Greeting Cards in action A 10" x 7" card scored to 5" x 7" on 16 point velvet laminated stock, with raised gold, silver or holographic foil on the front, 100 cards for $618.16 and runs up to 500. The velvet lamination is a thin matte film with a suede feel, and the raised foil sits on top of it, so your logo or lettering catches the light and has an edge you can feel with a thumb. The heavy 16 point stock lets the folded card stand on a mantel or a desk. For the same foil on a suede base, see [Raised Foil Suede Greeting Cards](https://www.4over4.com/product/raised-foil-suede-greeting-cards); for the soft-touch stock without foil, [Velvet Greeting Cards](https://www.4over4.com/product/velvet-greeting-cards). This card comes in three quantities only, 100, 250 and 500, and a company holiday list that tops 100 names is cheaper per card at the next step up. Corporate holiday cards, wedding invitations, save-the-dates and thank-you notes all fit this card. ### What Foil Color Should You Pick The foil is where these cards earn their name, and you choose from three. Raised gold reads warm and classic. Raised silver runs cool and modern, a clean metallic that suits a sharp logo or a minimalist design. Raised holographic shifts through a rainbow as the card moves. The ink, foil, envelope and proof choices are grouped below the way the live configurator presents them. ### Raised Foil Greeting Cards , Configured Your Way 4 option groups, 9 choices, defaults: 4/0: 4 Color Front; Blank Back, Raised Gold Foil Two easy ways to make a raised foil card do more work, whether you design it from scratch or drop in art you already have. #### Start from a ready-made layout Keep the foil to one element, a logo, a monogram or the greeting line, and let the velvet do the rest. Our [greeting card design templates](https://www.4over4.com/design-templates/greeting-cards) give you a folded layout to start from; change the colors, copy and photos in the online editor, then mark the foil area. #### Bring your own artwork For art you build yourself, use the press-ready blank. The [blank raised foil greeting card template](https://www.4over4.com/blank-templates/raised-foil-greeting-cards) is built at the real folded trim size with the bleed, safe margin, and score line already drawn in, so your design never crowds the cut or the fold. Send them as holiday cards, invitations, or premium thank-you notes.
