# What if I want to print with more than 4 colors?

Nearly all full-color printing is done with four process inks, so more than four colors is rarely needed in practice. The four inks combine to reproduce a very wide range of colors. In the real world, printing with more than four colors does not happen often. Full-color printers print in CMYK, also known as 4-color process. Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black mix to create the full color range you see in the final print. Special effects such as spot gloss or foil are separate finishes, not extra process colors. Build your artwork in CMYK and the four-color process will cover the vast majority of designs.
