# What file specifications are needed for hang tags?

Hang tag artwork should arrive as a print-ready PDF with the full specs noted so nothing is left to guesswork. Format: a print-ready PDF. Size: the finished dimensions, for example 2" x 2". Material: the stock, for example 14pt uncoated. Printing: the print sides, for example 4/0 for one side printed. Special options: any finishing, for example a 1/8" drill hole. Bleed: build the file at the required total size with bleed included, which is slightly larger than the finished size. Bleed is the extra image area trimmed off after cutting. Safe area: keep important text and logos safely inside the trim, away from the edges. Build sizes vary by product, so confirm the exact dimensions for your specific order and have your designer match the file to them.

Hang tag artwork should be a print-ready PDF noting finished size, stock such as 14pt uncoated, print sides and any drill hole, with bleed built in.
